So, last night I attended the midnight showing of Alice in Wonderland, and while we all know the whole concept of eat me and drink me, I wasn't expecting the fashion to change with Alice's size.
In the old Alice in Wonderland, Alice's dress changed size with her, but in the new movie, with every new size Alice had, her dress changed with it.
From what I can remember, Alice went through about 7 outfits last night.
The first, a dress that was a modern take on the original Alice outfit, was a simple blue dress with some black detailing at the top. The second was a halter, peasanty kind of dress that was loose and had black detailing, I think this was probably my favorite.
The third, which I can't find photos of at the moment, was designed by the Mad Hatter when he shrunk Alice so he could put her in a tea pot. The dress had similar colors to the previous ones and had a large flower on the left side.
The fourth was the only red dress Alice wore, and of course, it was when she was at the Red Queen's house. The Queen says to find anything to fit Alice, even if it's the curtains, and yet the dress Alice ended up wearing was perfectly tattered and deconstructed.
The fifth outfit Alice wore was a long blue coat. Following closely was the sixth outfit, a set of armor Alice wore as the White Queen's champion.
The seventh outfit was another long blue coat that had button details at the top and a detailed long skirt. Underneath the jacket was an outfit that I would never imagined Alice wearing, but for Tim Burton's Alice it was perfect.
Overall, I loved the movie and the clothes, Alice's costumes were just a small part of the great fashion in the movie.
