Viktor & Rolf: Convertibility is the new black

Viktor & Rolf's fall 2010 collection was full of interesting shapes, but you cannot get the full effect of the show in photos.
I am hoping and anxiously awaiting that Garance Dore will upload some artsy video that truly captures the show, but for now I can leave you with a youtube video I found and a pretty thorough description from Women's Wear Daily.
Viktor and Rolf used their first model Kristen McMenamy as a living wardrobe and dressed the other models with convertible clothing she wore under her coat. According to Style.com, McMenamy estimated she wore three times her body weight on her back.

" It starred Kristen McMenamy as a stationary mannequin piled high with half the collection at the onset. There she stood in the middle of a rotating runway flanked by the designers, who systematically undressed her, layer by layer, then redressed another model waiting to wear the discards down the catwalk. Off came a giant cape with fur shoulders that converted into a coat, followed by another fur cape, a flimsy silk drawstring-waist dress and so on, until McMenamy was stripped down to a nude, sequined bodysuit and the process reversed. It was certainly seat-gripping theater" - Women's Wear Daily

While Women's Wear Daily loved the show, they were less than stunned with the clothing, and I have to agree. I liked the simpleness of the Pre-Fall collection and the chopped up dresses from the Spring 2010 collection better, but nonetheless, the show was impressive.

My favorite look in the collection:
