Obsessed: Rodarte Spring 2011

So, I wasn't that big of a fan of Rodarte's fall 2010 collection, but after a while it began to grow on me (especially the socks and the soft pinks and whites).  This season Rodarte did the opposite of what other designers are doing, instead of going from hard to soft, they went from soft and layered to more structured.

While there are still the telltale signs that the Mulleavy sisters designed these stunning outfits, they went for a more nature meets gladiator sort of look, and well let's just say, I'm a fan.

I adore the way they made the clothes look like wood and the hair, oh my god the hair.  If I could wear my hair like this every day for the next week I totally would, I'm obsessed.

Parts of their collection are sort of like what I would imagine a trendy forrest nymph might wear if she was about 10,000 times cooler than other nymphs.  Also, the shades of blue remind me of Flow Blue plates that my family collects.

I'm saving all the shoes for a separate post, but let me just tell you in case you haven't seen them... the shoes in this show ruled.

What did you think?  I hope you all liked the collection as much as I did.

  1. I don't usually like Rodarte all that much in general, but every once in a while they have a collection that I just fall in love with. And this is one of them!

I think it shows how important it is to connect with nature and our earth, and shows that it is a beautiful thing that shouldn't be taken for granted. (At least that's the message I got from it haha)

I'm actually working on a post about this collection too. It was just so beautiful.
