VMA Black Carpet

I hate to say this, but after watching the VMA's last night my suspicions have been confirmed.  Musicians don't dress well.  All right, sorry if you're offended, but for the most part it's true.

I adore Nicki Minaj way more than the average person, but her outfit was disastrous.  There was something weird about watching Jessie J sing in a chair with a bedazzled leotard and cast.  Lady Gaga didn't rock her normal avant garde fashion, so she's out of the game.

Britney Spears has never been a *sophisticated* fashionista, Selena Gomez was channeling Dracula's bride in her pre-show outfit, and Katy Perry's yellow block on her head was too reminiscent of the Dior Couture show that I also didn't like.

OK, sorry for the rant, but that leaves us with the likes of Beyonce (WHO IS PREGNANT MY LIFE IS COMPLETE) in Lanvin, Katie Holmes whose outfit I actually would wear except maybe not to a nationally televised event, Zoe Saldana who isn't a musician and thus has fashion sense and the Teen Wolf girl.

Resort 2012: Favorite looks

As always, the season passes, and I haven't posted all the collections I loved.  This time though I decided to pick 11 (I couldn't chose 10) designers that I hadn't posted about yet and tried to pick a couple looks that really stood out to me.  Basically, I just pick outfits that I would either personally wear or if I saw someone on the street, I would think wow, that girl can dress.  Let me know if you had other favorites!

Iselin Steiro and Kinga Rajzak for Lanvin

I am going to go out on a limb and say that this is for sure my favorite ad campaign of the spring 2011 season.  Leave it to Lanvin, a label that has been on fire in 2010, to start 2011 off with a bang and a cat fight.

Anna Dello Russo for Lanvin and H&M

Anna Dello Russo modeling Lanvin for H&M.  If Anna's excited, you know this collection must be good.

Behind the scenes: Anna Dello Russo for Lanvin

Every fashion lover has said positive things about Lanvin's line for H&M, but now that ADR is clearly endorsing it, it's official: the line is going to be awesome.

Check out the video below of a shoot featuring ADR in the new Lanvin line.

Lanvin for H&M Lookbook

We can finally view the whole collection in this adorable/chic video lookbook!

I wish the line was a little more reasonable.  The dresses range from $149 to $249 and all women's shoes are $99.  Women's coats are $149 to $349, but hey, it's a whole lot cheaper than the actual Lanvin line.

Click below to view the lookbook in photos.  (There are also some men's looks that aren't pictured)

Jeanne Lanvin's Private Library

Photos from Jeanne Lanvin's private library in Paris.  I love his collection of old Parisian fashion books.  I can only imagine how cool this place is in person.

Obsessed: Lanvin Spring 2011

I am in love with the pleated and flowy dresses Lanvin put out for its spring 2011 collection.
The color palette is so awesome, and I love the unique zippers on the dresses.

I can't wait for Lanvin's collection with H&M, so I can own some of the awesomeness that Alber Elbaz creates.

The shoes are amazing too, and I'll be making a post about all my favorite shoes from Paris Fashion Week soon!

Natasha Poly for Lanvin H&M Video

Can it be Nov. 2 now so I can marvel at the Lanvin for H&M collection?

There aren't any H&M's in the two cities that I alternate between living in, so I might have to make a day trip to check out this, what I'm sure will be, insane collection when it hits stores.

Here's a video featuring Natasha Poly (although the clothes are blurred out) promoting the new line.

Some more of my favorite Resort Collections

Here's a few of my favorite more contemporary and edgy collections. I think the designers really out did themselves for the Resort collections, because there have really been some great looking and most importantly, wearable, looks being presented.
